Jev AI Model

Jev is an AI model that takes 'state' and typed questions to return typed decisions with calibrated confidence, excelling at classification tasks.

Pattern Jev AI decision models

I see quite a few people are asking the question "What is Jev?". Here is an answer with an example. Hope this helps. Jev is a new kind of AI model from TypeSafe AI (San Francisco; founder Diogo Almeida, ex-OpenAI), launched September 15, 2026. It does not generate text — it takes "state" plus typed questions and returns typed decisions (a choice, a score, or a yes/no probability) with calibrated confidence, in 70–500 milliseconds, at $0.042 per million input tokens with output free. It is very good at classifying. Here is an example. You send a query: { "model": "jev-latest", "state": "The invoice I received shows €480 but my contract says €380. Can someone check?", "questions": { "route_to": { "type": "choice", "instructions": "Which team should handle this ticket?", "options": ["billing", "technical_support", "sales", "account_management"] } } } You get this answer: { "route_to": { "type": "choice", "choice": "billing", "probabilities": { "billing": 0.94, "account_management": 0.04, "sales": 0.01, "technical_support": 0.01 }, "confidence": 0.94 } }
